Washington-Centerville Public Library’s eCollection Tutorials

It’s important to Washington-Centerville Public Library that a strong cohesive look was designed for the eCollection.  Because eBooks, eAudiobooks, and other digital content are becoming more important to patrons, it was decided that an overhaul in design was needed.  The focus was to create something that made it easy for patrons to find eCollection content from the home page, and also to allow for collection growth.  Launched in January 2013, the new eCollection website has been a big success and patrons love it.

eBooks and Digital Rights Management by Andrea Adkins

Librarians for the foreseeable future will continue to be the front line for eReader and eBook questions from the public, we need to be informed of the general Digital Rights Management (DRM) issues with eBooks. The following are links to articles as well as references to articles that can be found in EBSCO’s Academic Search Premier discussing this problem. I hope these will be of use in helping library staff understand DRM issues so they can explain them to library users.
